It’s said that a million monkeys, typing at typewriters, would eventually produce the works of Shakespeare.
A great analogy to use for the state of commercial photography today. A million hobby photographers, shooting everything from sunsets to Spam, have created some amazing images that publishers can use for free (or for “exposure”). Often, these images are created through luck, rather than skill.
This rightly irks professional photographers, who understand much more about how to get the photograph they intend to get.
